Overview

The 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-class is completely redesigned by its exterior and interior, shaking up the entry-luxury car segment. It is one of the most well-known and best-selling brands in the company’s history. The C-class cabin is most innovative, as it integrates appearance and technology from the newly redesigned S-class sedan 2021. Overall, the 2022 C-class is 2.5 inches longer than the previous model, adding an inch to the wheelbase. Mercedes-Benz claims that this results in greater rear-seat legroom, but until we get an opportunity to test-drive the new model, we won’t know how significant the difference is in real life.

What’s Newly Include in 2022

The new upgrades in the 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class include the following features:

  • The model year 2022 marks the beginning of a new generation with more luxury and high-tech features like heated front seats with memory settings, a sunroof, open-pore wood trim, and aluminum highlights.

Engine, Transmission, and Fuel Efficiency

The 255-hp turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine will continue to power the 2022 C-class, but it will be complemented by a 48-volt hybrid system that can supply up to 20 additional horsepower on request. An all-wheel drive is an option, but a rear-wheel drive is normal; only a nine-speed automatic transmission is available. In short bursts, the electric hybrid version can produce an additional 20 horsepower and 148 lb-ft of torque.

We haven’t had the chance to test the 2022 C-class at our test track, but Mercedes-Benz expects it to reach 60 mph in 5.9 seconds and a top speed of 130 mph, independent of drivetrain configuration. We believe that number is modest, given the previous generation C-class achieved a time of 5.4 seconds. The EPA hasn’t released fuel economy figures for the 2022 C-class yet, but the new car’s numbers should be similar to the current model, which gets 23 mpg in the city and 33 mpg on the highway.

What is the seating capacity?

The cabin of the C-Class is bigger than before, with greater headroom and legroom in the second row. There’s also a lot of adjustment in the front, so four adults should be able to get comfortable on longer trips.

Interior Quality

The C-class gets the most significant update in the form of a new high-tech cabin. A digital gauge display, touch-sensitive controls, and a slew of other features are standard on all models. Mercedes offers a substantial list of standard luxury features, including heated front seats with memory settings, a sunroof, open-pore wood trim, and aluminum highlights. The new model looks similar to the redesigned S-class sedans.

Infotainment, Bluetooth, and Navigation

A large vertically oriented 12.3-inch infotainment display, identical to the revised S-class sedan, sweeps up from the center console toward a trio of circular air vents on the upper dashboard. The touchscreen is slightly tilted toward the driver for easy usage while driving. It runs the most recent version of Mercedes’ MBUX infotainment system, including a voice-activated digital assistant, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and online access via a Wi-Fi hotspot. An 11.9-inch digital gauge display and a fingerprint sensor are standard on all models, allowing the driver’s unique profile to be authenticated for memory settings: wireless smartphone charging and a head-up display.

Should I Buy a 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class?

Yes, you should buy it. The 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Sedan is bigger, spacious, and more inventive than any previous model, and it will hit US showrooms in early 2022. The C-modern Class’s nature is noticeable even before you go inside. The combination of a short front overhang, extended wheelbase, and dynamic hood with twin power domes enhances the appearance of forwarding motion from the outside.

The windscreen and passenger compartment have been shifted to the back for traditional proportions known as a “cab-backward” design in the industry. Meanwhile, a sleek, compact body design is characterized by the brand’s signature radiator grille, and new two-piece LED tail lamps. With systematic electrification of the current four-cylinder engine, the C-Class sets a new economic level in performance.
