2022 Honda Ridgeline Review
Table of Contents
Overview
Honda redesigned the Ridgeline’s appearance for the first time in 2021 since the previous look was a bit outdated with the new decade. As a result, the 2022 Honda Ridgeline will remain unchanged on the outside, but the existing upgrades that look nice will be carried through.
The Honda Ridgeline appears modern, more compact, and uncomplicated, much like most Honda cars do to their client base. The Ridgeline is the only mid-size pickup vehicle constructed on a unibody platform, which results in a more refined ride than you would expect from a truck.
And, after a 2021 redesign, the truck gets a more rugged appearance to compete with body-on-frame competitors like the Toyota Tacoma, Ford Ranger, and Chevrolet Colorado. If you don’t mind a somewhat less useful and smaller vehicle, the small Ford Maverick and Hyundai Santa Cruz are alternative unibody pickup choices.

What’s Newly Include in 2022

- The exterior can now be painted in a new, optional color called Sonic Gray Pearl.
Engine, Transmission, and Fuel Efficiency
All Honda Ridgelines are equipped with a 3.5-liter V-6 engine that produces 280 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque. The power is distributed to all four wheels through a nine-speed automatic transmission with turbo (an FWD model is no longer offered).
The Ridgeline is surprisingly fast for a mid-size pickup truck, reaching 60 mph in 6.3 seconds if you press the accelerator just right. The fuel efficiency ratings for the 2022 model should be identical to the 2021 model, which is rated at 18/24 mpg in the city and highway.

2022 Honda Ridgeline Safety Features
The NHTSA gave the 2022 Ridgeline a five-star overall safety rating, including five stars in front and side crash tests and four stars in the rollover test. The IIHS rated the 2021 Ridgeline as Good in all collision categories except for the passenger-side small overlap front test, where it was rated as Acceptable.
This test replicates what occurs when a vehicle’s right corner collides with an item at a speed of 40 mph. Headlights get a Marginal rating. The Ridgeline, in typical Honda tradition, is equipped with a variety of standard safety features. A few of the features available are automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, and a road departure mitigation system.
2022 Honda Ridgeline Interior
What is the seating capacity?
Five people can easily fit in the 2022 Ridgeline’s cabin. While the seats are well cushioned, comfy, and pleasant.
Interior Quality
It’s hard to find a vehicle with a more functional and comfortable interior than the Ridgeline. Under the dash, the Honda has hard plastics like most other mid-size pickups. Other than that, the materials are high quality and long-lasting.
Cargo Space
Ridgeline’s cabin is roomy, with enough legroom for passengers in both rows. The legroom is 40.9 inches in the front and 36.7 inches in the back. A second-row seat can be lifted to provide more cargo space inside the cabin.
Although the bed is just around 5 feet long, the tailgate folds down to create a nearly 7-foot space. The bed has a cargo capacity of 33.9 cubic feet, and a 7.3-cubic-foot lockable, waterproof, and drain-plug-equipped storage compartment is located under the floor. The Ridgeline has a good cargo capacity.
Infotainment, Bluetooth, and Navigation
All Honda Ridgeline models come standard with an 8.0-inch touchscreen and standard 4.2-inch digital instrument cluster. It’s able to use Apple CarPlay and Android Auto on the same screen, which is great. The standard Ridgeline has a seven-speaker stereo system, while higher trims come standard with an eight-speaker system.
