2022 Honda Pilot Review

2022 Honda Pilot

MSRP: $39,060 - $50,620

  • The fuel economy is better than most competitors.
  • Interior with plenty of space.
  • Fast acceleration.

  • Starting price is higher than many competitors.
  • Interior design is outdated.

The 2022 Honda Pilot is one of our favorite SUVs because it offers spacious and comfortable driving, plenty of power, and good fuel economy. There are also a lot of features such as a decent cargo room, smooth ride, and smartly designed interior.

The 2022 Pilot isn’t showy or very enjoyable to drive, and it is far superior to a minivan for some. It’s an excellent family tool. Its resale value and reliability should also be good. To be honest, the three-row SUV lacks the space and versatility of the Honda Odyssey, with which it provides a platform and a quick V-6 powertrain.

The 2022 Pilot isn’t a new vehicle, but its performance, comfortable ride, and outstanding value make it the best choice. Unfortunately, its outward look is completely forgettable, especially when compared to visually interesting rivals like the Kia Telluride and Hyundai Palisade. Its interior technology is also hard to operate, pale compared to those of its competitors and the majority of others.

More details regarding the Specs, Features, and Interior have been described in the article below. If you want to know about the 2022 Honda Odyssey, then click our post.

The MSRP of the 2022 Honda Pilot ranges between $39,060 – $50,620.

What’s Newly Include in 2022

The new upgrades in the 2022 Honda Pilot include the following features:

  • Trim levels LX and EX are no longer available.
  • This is the third Pilot generation, which was released in 2016.
  • Honda Pilot has new black 20-inch wheels.

Engine, Transmission, and Fuel Efficiency

The Pilot’s V-6 has a sporty sound and lots of power, and we appreciate the quiet behavior of the 9-spd auto transmission. The Honda is not the most sluggish three-row crossover to drive, but its substantial size may make it seem heavy while cornering.

The 20-inch wheels that come on the higher trims harm ride quality a little bit, but they improved the Pilot’s dorky look. And the car rides pretty well when loaded with passengers and goods. Fuel economy is good within Honda’s showroom, and the Pilot is extremely efficient for such a big and useful car.

According to both the EPA and our real-world tests. The front-wheel-drive variant will get 20 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway. Adding all-wheel drive takes 1 mile per gallon off both government ratings, for totals of 19 mpg city and 26 mpg highway.

2022 Honda Pilot Safety Features

The NHTSA gives the 2022 Pilot a five-star overall safety rating. This score comprises four stars for the front and rollover tests and five stars for the side crash test. Unlike several of its competitors, the 2021 model does not get a Top Safety Pick certification.

The Pilot includes plenty of standard safety features. Lane keeps assist, lane departure warning, automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control, and automatic high beams are among the safety features available.

2022 Honda Pilot Interior

The interior of the 2022 Pilot is roomy and functional, and it is available with family-friendly features like an in-cabin PA system. For those that need to seat eight people, most trim levels have a three-across second row. The bench is replaced by two captain’s chairs in more expensive models, reducing the passenger count to seven.

However, the low seat cushion in the roomy third row is only suitable for children. The dashboard design of the Pilot includes easy-to-use climate controls and a well-marked gauge cluster, as well as a whopping 16 cupholders across the interior. Leather seats are now standard, and the front thrones provide excellent support and standard heating and cooling.

With its clever use of space and useful features, the Pilot exhibits typical Honda efficiency. The first and second rows provide plenty of legroom. The third row is roomy enough for people to utilize occasionally, but not as much as the third row in a Kia Telluride or Volkswagen Atlas. The third row is likewise a little difficult to get to.

The cargo floor can be adjusted to maximize capacity or create an underfloor cargo area. The Pilot’s high seating position provides a commanding view of the road, and its big windows and thin, unobtrusive roof pillars offer it best-in-class visibility. Most drivers will find a comfortable seat, while taller drivers might require additional steering wheel adjustment.

Overall, the touchscreen system of the Pilot is simple to operate. The Navigation system is fast to respond, and the 10-speaker music system is fantastic. On Touring and Elite versions, a Wi-Fi hotspot is provided. Users with the Honda CabinControl app can connect to the in-car Wi-Fi and manage things like rear cabin temperature and music selections.
