Review

The 2021 Nissan Frontier has a powerful V6 engine but has an obsolete interior and few features. Due to incomplete reliability data, this car has no overall score or rating. The Nissan Frontier 2021 looks and feels older than any other mid-size pickup despite its modern V-6 powertrain. Nissan has, however, previously disclosed the next generation and unveiled their current 310-hp V-6 3.8-liter and 7-speed automatic transmission. While this engine offers the Frontier the greatest fuel efficiency, its outdated plastic interior is just as unremarkable as its small list of features.

The Frontier is a pickup that is best suited for tradespeople and individuals with excellent features like Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and the most active safety systems. The 2021 Frontier offers an off-road Pro-4X model costing several thousand dollars less than comparable competitors but still saddled with the flaws mentioned above.

What is the seating capacity?

In Crew Cab versions, there are four seats, and in King Cab versions, there are five seats. In general, the front seats are comfy and provide a decent driving position, even without much adjustability. The rear seats are also not as roomy on Crew Cab versions as on other trucks, although adults may ride at least on short rides, with acceptable comfort in the back of the car.

How many Child Car Seats are there?

Two full sets of LATCH connectors and a tether anchor are included with the Frontier Crew Cab models. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety awarded the Crew Cab’s LATCH system a Marginal ranking for how easy to use. In addition to LATCH connectors for the rear seats, the Frontier King Cab models also feature two complete sets of LATCH connectors.

Interior Quality

The quality of the cabin of the frontier is a definite weakness. The inside is sleek and outdated, and nearly all competitors are more updated. There is plenty of external noise in the cabin, so expect a ride.

Cargo Space

King Cab Frontier models feature a bed of six feet and one inch, whereas Crew Cab versions have five feet or 6 feet and one inch. The bed is 3 feet, 8 inches between wheel wells regardless of the length. Many rivals offer more features than Frontier, but Nissan’s useful C-channel Utili-track system, which allows for more flexibility in transporting items by making securing your cargo easy, is still available.

Infotainment, Bluetooth, and Navigation

The simplicity of the Frontier system makes it easy to operate, and the lack of complex features makes it easier for frontier drivers to distract them while driving much lower bells and whistles.

  • A 7-inch touch screen, stereo for four speaker USB port, Bluetooth, and Siri Eyes Free are standard infotainment features.
  • Standard features available: six- or 8-speaker audio system, Rockford Fosgate 10-speaker audio system with 5.8-inch satellite radio and navigation touchscreen
  • Further standard features: keyless entry and the start of pushbutton
  • Other features available: moonroof and automatic double-zone climate control
