Review

The 2021 Mercedes-Benz G-Class is a high-end, ultra-luxury SUV with serious off-road capability and more than a small dose of civility inside. Two versions are on offer: The G550 with its 416-horsepower twin-turbo V-8 and the AMG G63, which delivers 577 hp and 627 lb-ft of torque from an especially ferocious version of the V-8.

All Gs are four-wheel drives with three locking differentials. Although a switch to an independent front suspension up front made them more comfortable on-road, moreover, the G-Wagen (from the German Geländewagen, or “cross-country vehicle”) is a formidable four-wheeler as long as it’s not outfitted with the optional 22-inch alloy wheels.

Wonderfully supportive front and rear seats, above-average cargo-hauling ability, and heavy materials help the G-Class earn a full 10 out of 10 when it comes to comfort and quality.

The interior is all about luxury and offers more space for people and cargo than the previous generation.

Standard features include a 12.3-inch fully digital gauge cluster, heated front and rear seats with leather upholstery, a power-adjustable steering column, and three-zone automatic climate control. With the check of a few option boxes, buyers can enjoy massaging front seats with ventilation, a heated steering wheel, Nappa leather upholstery, and a digital gauge display.

What is the seating capacity

2021 Mercedes-Benz has a capacity of five passengers. There is 10-way power adjustability in the front seats, and both seat rows are heated. Leather upholstery and a power-adjustable steering wheel are also standard.

Both seating rows are cushioned, supportive, and spacious. Even on long drives, enough space and an open cabin make the G-Class feel cosy.

How many Child Car Seats are there

The Mercedes-Benz G-Class rear outboard seats have two full sets of LATCH connectors.

Interior Quality

Luxurious fabrics like soft leather or wooden accents fill the cabin of the Mercedes-Benz G-Class SUV. All looks and feels reasonably generous.

Cargo Space

The Mercedes-Benz G-Class trails most of its rivals in cargo room, with 38.1 cubic feet of space behind the rear seats and 68.6 cubic feet behind the front seats. However, it is worth noting that the G-Wagen is a two-row luxury SUV, and there are three rows for most of its rivals. Additionally, instead of upward, the liftgate opens out to the side.

Infotainment, Bluetooth, and Navigation

The infotainment system for COMAND is both modern and quick to use. In newer Mercedes cars, such as the A-Class, it is not as state-of-the-art as the Mercedes-Benz User experience (MBUX), but it is still high-end. It is possible to monitor most settings through a touchpad or a rotary knob. Standard features include a 12.3-inch infotainment display,  Apple CarPlay, satellite radio, HD Radio, a touchpad controller, a navigation system, a 12.3-inch digital driver display, Android Auto,  a Burmester stereo 15-speaker, two USB ports, and Bluetooth.

Is the 2021 Mercedes-Benz G-Class a good SUV?

Yes, of course, the Mercedes-Benz G-Class is a beautiful luxury SUV. With a coddling trip, luxurious cabin supplies, a high-tech infotainment system, and comfortable seats, this vehicle is well-rounded. The V8 engines are brutish, particularly in the powerful AMG trim. It’s also a competent off-roader that easily tackles trails, rocks, and water. Only keep an eye out for its incredible price tag.

What is a 2021 Mercedes-Benz G-Class worth?

Pricing starts at $131,600 for the entry-level 2021 Mercedes-Benz G 550. The 2021 Mercedes-Benz AMG G 63 from Mercedes-Benz rockets up to $156,650.

How much gas mileage offer by the Mercedes-Benz 2021 G-Class?

As of this writing, there are no EPA estimates for the 2021 G-Class. A comparable 2021 model gets 13 mpg in the city and 17 mpg on the highway, and 13 mpg in the city and 15 mpg on the highway are returned by the AMG. Both totals are among the worst on the market for any car.

How’s the riding and handling of the Mercedes-Benz 2021 G-Class?

The Mercedes-Benz G-Class remains relaxed in just about any driving situation, unlike many body-on-frame vehicles that trade some on-road comfort for off-road capabilities. Its suspension smooths out most road imperfections, and handling is primarily composed, although someone can roll. A few critics even mention a sensation at lower speeds of steering resistance. Four-wheel drive (4WD) is standard.
