Review

2021 Honda Odyssey, from its large and well-appointed cabin, its active performance, and the wealth of familiar technology, has placed at the top of our minivan category. The 2021 Odyssey is better as the ultimate piece of parenting gear instead of a vehicle. While a minivan can seem obvious to children and parents, none of them have so clearly focused on that goal as the Odyssey.

As a result, the Odyssey flies its flag while rivals try to hide their pride. No effort was made to add sporty or SUV-like florals outside, but the dash inside has the visual appeal of the washing machine. Likewise, the driving experience is indifferent, with loose steering and spring riding (unlike earlier Accord-like Odysseys). It’s all about the children here, and they don’t care whether you receive feedback from the wheel or if your eyes seem fascinating interior. They may also not be concerned about fuel economy, but the Odyssey trails its rivals as one of the few objectives.

What is the seating capacity?

The Odyssey base trim has seven seats, with the captain’s second-row seat and bench seats in the third row. All other trims are suitable for seating eight people with three-second row seats and the Magic Slide technology of Honda, enabling you to slide the seats in many different settings, backward and forwards.

For example, the center seat may be removed, and both outboard positions slid together. This enables siblings to sit close to one other on one side of the car and open their way to the third row. The driver and front passenger are equipped with a wide range of adjustments. Similarly comfortable is the second row with supporting covers and ample head and legroom for taller passengers. Even on the third-row, adults are spacious enough.

How many Child Car Seats are there?

The three-row Odyssey has four full sets of LATCH connectors. All anchors are simple to locate and operate for the second-row outboard seats. The external seats of the third row have a complete set of anchors, although the tether points are challenging to identify. The Highway Safety Institute of Insurance has provided Good+ with this LATCH System, which shows it is most straightforward and most flexible to use.

Interior Quality

This 2021 Honda Odyssey is equipped with a sophisticated interior, one of the most beautiful in the class. The design is elegant, and almost all the materials are of the highest quality.

Cargo Space

The 2021 Honda Odyssey offers a lot of cargo space. You may store up to 38.6 cubic feet behind third-row seats, and lift over their low-load floor in heavy goods is effortless. In a recessed area on the floor, the third-row seats may fold apart. If the third row is in use, this area may be utilized for cargo.

When the end seats are not available, the odyssey provides up to 92.3 cubic feet of room. You have to manually remove second-row seats to reach the maximum load capacity of this minivan. The cargo area with all the sitting stowed or removed will reach up to 158 cubic feet (higher trims offer up to 155.7 cubic feet). The Odyssey hatch is wide open so that large or bulky goods may be loaded easily.

Infotainment, Bluetooth, and Navigation

The infotainment fare of the Odyssey is quite basic. You will get a 5-inch display with no touchscreen, applications, and other modern comforts. However, all versions above the base trim include a responsive 8″ touch screen that enables smartphone connectivity for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

The menus are installed intuitively, and other dashboard controls are also easy to use. One reason why Odyssey has been awarded the Best Minivan Family Award every year since 2011, is full of family-friendly amenities and convenience.

  • Standard features: 5-inch display, stereo with seven speakers, Bluetooth, and two USB ports
  • Infotainment features available: an eight-inch touch panel, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Satellite Radio, HD Radio, WLAN, Rear Seat Hot Play, Wi-Fi, Navigation, a USB port third-row, and a Premium Stereo with an 11-speaker
  • Further standard features: Climate control automatic
  • Other features are available: automatic tri-zone climate control, sunshades of the second and third rows, remote start, automatic rearview mirror, universal garage door opener, cabin watch, CabinTalk, CabinControl, and Honda Vac.
