Review
The 2021 Honda HR-V ranks in the top half of the SUV class. It is easy to handle and has good cargo capacity but has a weak engine and unreliable infotainment controls. Small SUVs are all raging, and although most buyers choose them for their attractive exterior images, certain offers – like the 2021 HR-V.
After the 2020 model year, Honda will discontinue the Fit hatchback, the HR-V will shortly be the smallest car in the North American lineup. Fortunately, we enjoy the Fit remains in the HR-V, including the innovative Magic Seat, second row, which folds into turn the interior into an air cargo field.
The rest of the HR-V cabin is nicely built if it is somewhat bland and has plenty of creature comfort, which suits most small SUV purchasers. Unfortunately, we see in our test that the HR-V is slow in accelerating. So those needing extra pep, should choose the turbocharged Hyundai Kona and Kia Seltos versions.

2021 Honda HR-V Interior
What is the seating capacity?
Five people could be seated in the 2021 Honda HR-V. The legroom in both rows is excellent. Most people will find enough headroom in the front, although the roofline is a little tighter in the back. Some critics remarked that the driver’s seat might be difficult to get comfortable. Cloth upholstery comes standard. Heated front seats and leather upholsteries are available.
How many Child Car Seats are there?
This SUV has two full sets of LATCH outboard seat connectors. There’s also a tether anchor for the central rear seat, which may borrow from either outboard seat lower anchors. For its ease of use, the Highway Insurance Institute has given LATCH the second-highest rating. However, the tethers may be confused with other hardware, and the lower anchors are deeply fixed in the seats.
Interior Quality
This Honda featured a beautiful, well-built interior, good fit, and finished with fine plastic surfaces.

The cargo space of the HR-V varies according to its drivetrain but usually is good for the segment. Front-wheel-drive models has the capacity of 24.3 cubic feet behind the back seats. The infotainment system on the HR-V base includes physical knobs that are simple to use for changing climate and audio settings, but there is no advanced integration of the smartphone. While the higher models provide advanced features, like smartphone connectivity through Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, almost all audio functions are performed via the touchscreen. In addition, the physical climate controls are replaced by a haptic feedback panel that may be difficult to use while driving.
