Review

The 2021 GMC Terrain is located in the bottom half of the compact class SUV. Although roomy, convenient, and well designed, the power and practicality are outclassed by competitors. At first sight, the beautiful style of GMC terrain 2021, powertrains, and upscale price tags appear to indicate gold, but sadly the bronze medal at the compact SUV Olympics is not achieved.

A standard 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder is available, but consumers can upgrade to a 2.0-liter turbo unit with gusto. The Terrain cabin is comfortable and equipped with a lot less impressive material than that which consumers will appreciate from the Honda CR-V, the Mazda CX-5, or Volkswagen Tiguan.

What is the seating capacity?

The terrain can be sitting up to five people in the two-row: standard cloth upholstery and leather seats. You could opt for front seats that can be adjusted for power, heated and ventilated, heated external rear seats, and heated steering wheel. There’s plenty of space for both rows, and the relaxed seats are comfortable for the occupants. There is enough insulation to prevent harsh noise on the road, and the doors are sufficiently wide open to allow for easy entry and exit. The angled dash hampers visibility on the downside.

How many Child Car Seats are there?

The external rear seats have two full LATCH connections, and the rear middle seat is a tethered anchor.

Interior Quality

Although the cabin of Terrain includes a few plastic parts, the overall feeling is one of quality. In a Denali trim, with its plush leathers and attractive stitching, this is particularly true.

Cargo Space

This vehicle has less cargo capacity than many of its rivals at 29.6 cubic ft behind the second row and 63.3 cubic ft behind the first. However, the front passenger seat will fold flattened so that longer items, including surfboards, are easier to transport, and there are several small cabin storage rooms. There is also a power lift and a hands-free lift.

Infotainment, Bluetooth, and Navigation

  • Standard features: A 7″ touch screen, Amazon Alexa, Apple CarPlay, a stereo with six speakers, 4 USB ports, Bluetooth, and a Wi-Fi hotspot
  • Available features include an 8-inch touch screen, navigation, wireless charging device, satellite radio, HD radio, a 7-speaker Bose stereo, a DVD player, and an infotainment rear seat.
  • Standard features: A start button, keyless input proximity, and automatic climate controls
  • Other features available: Double-zone automatic climate control, sunroof, and remote start
