Review

The Ford Escape reaches the top third in a compact SUV. Escape has a spacious cabin and a predictable reliability rating of almost the highest. The 2021 Ford Escape is new for 2021 and makes a big move forward with a new platform, design, and powertrains to compete in the compact crossover market. It drives more like a car than ever before, marginally more extensive than the previous Escape. It offers a high sensation and seating place for a crossover but a more exciting and entertaining driving dynamic than many other comparable sizes.

Around the same time, the Escape provides more space for passengers, better comfort, and additional technologies to align with the best competitors. The Escape Hybrid is even more effective, particularly when a generation is taken off. It returns to the line-up. In 2021, the compact crossover was modified in a few aspects. The Ford’s Co-Pilot 360 Plus package now can read road marks and adaptive cruise controls. The available 2.0-liter engine provides a Class II trailering package.

2021 Ford Escape Interior

What is the seating capacity?

This Ford can seat up to 5 people. This small SUV still offers plenty of space though it is not the extensive class entry. When more cargo space is essential, the rear seats may slide back for more legroom or forward. Some critics say the front seats are covered well, although other critics note that they may be more beneficial—standard cloth upholstery.

How many Child Car Seats are there?

For the Escape’s back outboard seats, there are two full sets of LATCH connectors. There is also a tether anchor for the rear center of the seat, which can borrow a lower anchor from either side. The whole setup is simple to run.

Interior Quality

Although the Escape cabin is coated in some superior materials, various low-cost plastics make it less appealing. The Escape cabin has several lower quality plastic panels, like those on the doors and the lower central Console, but it is wonderfully built and comfortable for both front and rear seating occupants. We have twenty-one cases in the Escape’s rear, but Equinox has held two more cases.

Cargo Space

The Escape has 33.5 to 37.5 cubic feet of space behind the second row, based on how the sliding rear seats are located. There are 65.4 cubic feet of space behind the first row in total. This is an outstanding class cargo capacity.

Infotainment, Bluetooth, and Navigation

You can conveniently use the available SYNC 3 infotainment system. The touch screen easily responds to inputs, and physical knobs are mounted within reach for the climate and audio settings.

  • Standard features for infotainment: 4.2-inch display, USB port, 6-speaker stereo, and Bluetooth.
  • Features available for infotainment: an 8-inch touch screen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Wi-Fi, browser, Bang & Olufsen’s 10-speaker stereo, and satellite radio.
  • Further features available: keyless input proximity, push-button starting, remote start, panoramic moonroof, and automatic climate control.
