Review

The 2021 Chevrolet Bolt EV is in the top half of hybrid and electric vehicles. The driving range is long and fast, but some low-cost cabin materials keep it in lower rankings. The 2021 Chevy Bolt EV is not as interesting as the Hyundai Kona Electric or as trendy as the Tesla 3. With its smooth ride, comfortable cab, and expected standard features, it is an attractive choice for mainstream buyers.

The Chevy has an EPA range of 259 miles, which is completely unusual and helps it provide up to 100 miles in 30 minutes. Certainly, Bolt’s design is dorky. Considering the start price of approximately $40,000 (before federal tax credits), the internal quality does not count as a reward. Still, it sends 266 pound-feet of torque to the front wheels and offers zippy acceleration. Its one pedal drive and handbrake feature are both appreciated by us.

What is the seating capacity?

This Chevy will carry up to five passengers. Standard cloth upholstery is likely for leather seats. Additional options include heated front seats, heated rear seats, and a heated steering wheel covered in leather. Both rows provide enough room for two people to sit in easily, but critics note that additional cushioning should be used in the seats. After a brief amount of time, they will feel firm.

How many Child Car Seats are there?

The rear outboard seats have two full sets of LATCH connections and the rear middle seat tether anchor. The setup is not the most intuitive, though, since the lower anchors are placed deep inside the seats and need to be reset.

Interior Quality

While the Bolt EV has a minimal cabin with decent construction quality, it has too many low-level plastics for a $36,000 starting price for an electric car.

Cargo Space

The Bolt has plenty of room in its cargo area, with 16.9 cubic feet of space behind the rear seats. Folding down the rear seats opens up a total of 56.6 cubic feet, which ensures that this hatchback has a wide class cargo capacity.

Infotainment, Bluetooth, and Navigation

The Chevrolet infotainment system is easy to use, aside from an occasional lag in response time. There are physical controls below the wide touch screen, and the display has a simple to use menu of battery and tracking settings.

  • A 10.2″ touch screen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, two USB ports, Wi-Fi, satellite radio, and six-speakers stereo are the standard features for infotainments.
  • Available infotainment features: a Bose stereo with 7 speakers, two USB ports, and a wireless charge device.
