Review

The 2021 BMW X4 is available in four trim levels: xDrive30i, M40i, M, and M Competition. The main difference between all four is the powertrain. The M40i has a 382-horsepower inline-six engine, while the xDrive30i has a 248-horsepower four-cylinder engine. The X4 M has the same six-cylinder engine as the M40i, but it produces 473 horsepower, while the M Competition produces 503 horses. All models come standard with an all-wheel-drive (called xDrive by BMW) and an eight-speed automatic transmission.

The BMW X4 has a lot to offer. A 10.25-inch touch screen,  Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, a 12-speaker stereo, satellite radio,  a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, HD Radio, a navigation system, a panoramic moonroof, 10-way power-adjustable front seats, two USB ports, tri-zone automatic climate control, Bluetooth, a power liftgate,  and SensaTec synthetic leather upholstery are among the standard features for 2021.

Rain-sensing windshield wipers,  adaptive cruise control, a rearview camera, front and rear parking sensors, adaptive headlights, and BMW’s Active Driving Assistant, which combines lane departure warning,  automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, lane keeps assist, forward collision warning, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert, are also included in the xDrive30i.

The BMW M40i includes the majority of the features available in the xDrive30i, as well as the Convenience package’s contents and 14-way power-adjustable front seats. The M40i’s more potent engine sets it apart from the base model.

The BMW X4 stands out from other luxury compact SUVs thanks to its swoopy, coupe-styled roof, robust engines, and agile handling. Its opulent interior and high-tech features also help it stand out. However, this vehicle lacks cargo and passenger space, rides stiffly in performance models, and even the base xDrive30i is more expensive than other luxury SUVs.

Should I Buy a 2021 BMW X4?

Yes, you should, as the BMW X4 is a good – but pricey – choice for a sporty crossover SUV. There are, however, more practical options, such as the well-rounded Audi Q5. It has several appealing features, including a stylish interior with a variety of user-friendly, high-tech features. It also has four powerful engines and excellent handling.
