Review

The 2021 BMW 840 Gran Coupe to be one of the favourite four-door coupes. A turbocharged 3.0-litre straight-six engine has an excellent eight-speed automatic transmission with sport and manual shift modes that sends power to the rear or all four wheels. A sport exhaust system, automatic high beams, and a power tailgate are some of the features. And that’s just the outside. On the inside, there’s a 10.25-inch infotainment monitor with Apple CarPlay, navigation with real-time traffic assistance, and BMW Teleservices.

The 2021 BMW 840i xDrive Gran Coupe is the most potent option among its rivals. When tackling twisty roads, it provides the peace of mind that only an AWD car can bring, and it accelerates to sixty miles per hour quicker than the basic 840i. The Gran Coupe BMW 840 is a sizeable automobile measuring 200.2 inches in total length for the 840i and 840i xDrive models. The width is 76.1 inches for the lower-tier versions, and the full height is 55.2 inches; the xDrive edition weighs 4,381 pounds.

It has the same features as the BMW 840i, such as advanced vehicle and key memory, a power rear sunshade, a panoramic moonroof with a fully automatic two-piece glass panel, comfort keyless entry, and automatic climate control with four zones. The standard safety features are all frontal collision alert, automatic city collision avoidance, and pedestrian detection braking.

2021 BMW 840 Gran Coupe Interior

The 2021 BMW 840 Gran Coupe has plenty of interior space, particularly in the back, but the sloping roof means that backseat passengers will only have 37 inches of headroom. The front seats have plenty of legroom. Regardless of how comfortable the seats are, they also offer excellent support when the car is thrown into a corner.

Two extra doors extend the Gran Coupe’s interior space, but it doesn’t necessarily translate to more trunk and cargo space. The regular two-door coupe has 14.8 cubic feet of cargo space, which is increased to 15.5 cubic feet in the Gran Coupe. That’s plenty of space for anything you’ll need for a fun weekend away. 18-inch V-spoke light-alloy wheels, a power tailgate, and automatic high beams are standard on the 840i.

A 10.25-inch central infotainment panel, as well as a 12.3-inch instrument cluster display, dominate the 8 Series Gran Coupe’s dashboard. Voice, touchscreen, and the iDrive touchpad controller control the iDrive infotainment system, which we found to be very intuitive and straightforward to use. The infotainment features include SiriusXM satellite radio with a yearly all-access subscription, navigation, Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, and two USB ports. A 16-speaker Harman Kardon surrounds the sound system with a 464-watt amplifier that provides sound.
