Since most of the standard Series 7’s design elements are carried over, there’s nothing about the 2021 BMW 745e that means it’s a hybrid. The only telltale signs that this is the BMW 7 Series plug-in hybrid from the exterior photos are the plug point on the driver’s side fender and the slight badging on the trunk lid. The eight-speed automatic is equally impressive when switched to manual mode and using the steering-mounted paddles, with silky-smooth shifts and fast gear changes.
