Review

The 2-Series is one of the best small luxury cars, and it sacrifices little in luxury or other necessary comforts when it comes to quality. The base model 2021 BMW 228 Gran Coupe 2.0-liter four-banger turbo delivers 228 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque.

The BMW 228 Gran Coupe is an AWD car that, like its M-tuned brother, gets an eight-speed engine, but the gearbox in this car isn’t the ‘Sport’ transmission, so the gear changes are a little less sharp. The changes are always, however, smooth.

The BMW 228 Gran Coupe comes standard with SensaTec faux leather upholstery in either the Black or Oyster/Black combination of your choices.

An option is available to update the perforated Dakota leather in Magma Red, Oyster, Mocha, or Black for an extra $1,450. The updated upholstery includes the $1,650 Comfort kit as well. You get these leather options at no charge on the M235i.
