Review

The 2021 Audi Q7 is positioned in the middle of the luxury midsize SUV class. It combines high-end cabin materials and many tech features with a smooth ride, engaging handling, and robust engines, but it lacks cargo and third-row space.

The Audi Q7 is available in three trim levels for 2021: Premium, Premium Plus, and Prestige. The performance-oriented Audi SQ7 is available in two trim levels: Premium Plus and Prestige.

Quattro all-wheel drive and eight-speed automatic transmission are standard on all models. The Q7 and SQ7 have almost identical features, so the critical distinction is the powertrain. The Q7 is powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine or a 3.0-liter V6, while a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 powers the SQ7.

The Premium Plus is a safe bet regardless of whether you want the Q7 or SQ7. It comes with most of the Prestige’s features, except performance enhancements like air suspension, and it’s not much more expensive than the base Premium.

An auto-dimming rearview mirror, leather upholstery, power-folding third-row seats, tri-zone automatic climate control, a hands-free power liftgate, heated and eight-way power-adjustable front seats, proximity keyless entry, a panoramic sunroof, and alloy wheels are also included in the Premium trim.

However, a rearview camera, Audi Pre Sense Front, front and rear parking sensors, Audi Pre Sense Basic, Audi Side Assist, Audi Pre Sense Rear, and lane departure warning are all standard safety features.

The Executive kit includes ventilated, and 12-way power-adjustable front seats, heated second-row seats, power rear-window sunshades, traffic sign recognition, intersection assist, a heated steering wheel, lane keep assist, quad-zone automatic climate control, lane keep assist, and adaptive cruise control with traffic jam assist, as well as traffic sign recognition, intersection assist, and adaptive cruise control with traffic jam assist.

The Audi Q7, particularly the Audi SQ7, is a well-rounded luxury midsize SUV with a pillowy-soft ride, playful handling, and powerful engine options for 2021. The seats are plush, and the cabin is stocked with high-end fabrics.

The Q7’s lowest expected reliability rating is perhaps its most significant flaw. Besides, the cargo room and fuel economy estimates are subpar.

Cargo Space

Infotainment, Bluetooth, and Navigation

Two sensitive touch screens are used in the MMI infotainment system. Both use haptic feedback (touch or vibration-based) and audio signals to indicate that your choices have been saved, but you’ll have to dig through the submenus to find some options.

The Audi Virtual Cockpit has received positive feedback from critics. It’s a digital instrument cluster that takes the place of the conventional gauge cluster. The Virtual Cockpit reduces the need to look away from the road by displaying important details such as navigation, vehicle information, environment and audio settings, and more. The whole setup appears to be elegant and uncluttered.
