2020 SSC Tuatara – Review, Specs, Configurations, Prices, and Interior
The 2020 SSC Tuatara has been producing a supercar built by SSC North American since the late 2000s. The 2020 Tuatara is ready to start production in 2020, as seen with a concept car in 2011 and a pre-production model by 2018. The SSC Tuatara has set the current record for the fastest production car globally, credible 316.11 mph. The SSC Tuatara is a sports car designed, built, and manufactured by SSC North America, the US-based automobile manufacturer (formerly Shelby Super Cars Inc.).
The car is the successor of the Ultimate Aero and was designed by Jason Castriota and SSC. The engine’s capacity, initially powered by a 6.9-liter V8 twin-turbo engine, was later reduced to 5.9 liters to allow a higher rpm redline. The following: SSC had claimed that a 1.350 hp (1.007 kW; 1.369 ps) or 1.750 hp (1.305 kW; 1,774 ps) power output would be provided with E85 combined with a top speed of more than 300 mph. In 2011, SSC began developing the SSC Ultimate Aero successor.
At the Pebble Beach Concours d ‘Elegance 2011, Tuatara’s latest car was previewed in concept form. The production version of the Tuatara has been shown to the public in August 2018, 7 years since the concept’s debut. The car was designed by Jason Castriota, a previous designer of Pininfarina. Tuatara is named for its reptiles found in New Zealand only, recognized for their most rapid molecular development. SSC states that the Tuatara has 0.279 in its class with the lowest movement coefficient. The cars are built from carbon fibers and have crumbling zones of aluminum, and have active aerodynamics.

2020 SSC Tuatara Interior
At this week’s 2011 Dubai Motor Show, Tuatara is also one of the main attractions where fans and potential buyers have had the chance to take interior decor for the first time. SSC has also seen its inner shots, showing a hyper-modern design that fits the stunning lines of the exterior of the Tuatara. According to SSC, a glass screen lit by rear projectors is the main gauge cluster area and acts as a head-up display. On either side of the steering column on the driver’s side, two small HUD displays are placed; their design is based on the rear winglets of the Tuatara.
On the right, the HUD shows the car’s current gear and is accompanied by a light tree that contains valuable information about the driver’s shift timing. One of the coolest aspects of the manual change in 7-speed H-patterns is that the Tuatara is one of the few modern supercars that offer a manual gear shift, representing the style used in classic exotics. Naturally, a seven-speed paddle shifter is also mounted to your steering column if you want an automatic unit.
The interior is equipped with leather and Alcantara upholstery, and a touch screen controls the functions of the car on the center console. There is a configurable instrument panel behind the steering wheel with important detail on the status and a 300 mph speedometer. Instead of traditional side mirrors, the vehicle uses a camera feature. SSC says that a 6-foot, 5-inch tall person with a helmet will fit inside.
