2018 VW Beetle Review
The revival of the two decades old Volkswagen Beetle seems to be over. While the original was never so successful in its time, the renowned commodity, which came into existence in 1998, was an icon dating back to 1949. But now the New Beetle is old, headed to extinction.
The 2018 Volkswagen Beetle is now available in a new coast trim level for the last reworked models for 2012. The engine offerings were reduced to one a new 2,0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. The old R-line engine is gone. New Style & Comfort, Lighting, and Premium option are available. Volkswagen now offers a new 6-year or 72,000-mile warranty.
The beetle is now accessible at four levels: S, Coast, SE, and Taller-Riding Dune. The version of the Coast comes with a teal shade of deep sea. There’s a surfin’ themed dashboard with a wood-look dashboard inside over rough floor mats. A hatchback coupe or convertible is available in every edition.
The modestly more robust and economical 2.0-liter rendition, which generates 174 horsepower with 184-pound feet of torque, is replaced by the previous 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine. The only transmission is a smooth 6-speed automatic.

Incomplete crash testing scores. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration gave the 2017 Beetle a 5-star rating, but with a 4-star rating for frontal impacts. Only the four-star frontal-impact score is listed for 2018 models. For some years, convertibles were not crash tested.
