The 2014 Volkswagen Beetle hasn’t hooked me yet despite all good responses since its arrival in 2011. It is good to drive and is an amazingly robust compact vehicle, able to satisfy all the needs of a range of buyers, with a wide range of engine options (including diesel) and two different car models.
This exclusive GSR model will be introduced for 2014 by Volkswagen – only 3,500 units – based on a sports-oriented R-Line trim and a unique color in yellow and black, paying homage to the “Yellow Black Racer” of the 70s. It’s a fun little flashy, fun.
The GSR is pretty significant to drive. VW uses a refined 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged inline engine with a rating of 210 horsepower and a torque of 207. Fitted with a six-speed manual transmission, in a respectful period, the Beetle GSR can achieve 60 kilometers per hour in an incredibly high 6.6 seconds.
