Review

The 2013 Volkswagen Golf R is a surprisingly well-rounded luxury car. Its price, unfortunately, can be challenging to justify. The Golf R is North America’s most potent golf model and the all-new predecessor to the VR6-powered R32 model are from 2004 and 2008.  The Golf R is available in two or four-door body styles powered by a four-cylinder 256-hp 2.0-liter turbo engine paired with a manual six-speed transmission with Volkswagen’s 4Motion all-wheel-drive system, which can direct 100% of the torque to the rear wheels if necessary, with the energy is directed to the ground.

The Golf 2013 comes with an eight-speaker audio system and an auxiliary connection as standard. Features include Bluetooth, a quality music system with a touch screen, satellite radio, and navigation. A touch-screen audio system of the Golf enables access to iPhone music, and the navigation system setup is straightforward. Some have pointed out, however, that the touch screen is on the low side. A power sunroof, Dynaudio sound system, and navigation are only three options. But every five things are standard, including dual-zone climate control, Bluetooth, six airbags, adaptive bi-xenon headlights, heated leather seats, and keyless access/start.
