2000 Volkswagen Golf Review

2000 Volkswagen Golf is quick. This car is fun to drive with either the new 1.8 turbos or the narrow-angle V6. Two people could sit in the back comfortably. Fold-down the seats and lots of objects can be punched in the cargo area. Even in the compact segment, it is one of the most advanced vehicles. It exudes fine German engineering. During the 1999 model year, the Golf and sport GTI hatchbacks were updated, so this year’s minor changes. Both models have a new thief deterrent system to stamp the engine until an ignition key with the appropriate electronic code is recognized.

The Golf and the GTI models both have the same front-wheel drive as the Jetta sedan, and the general style, engines, and interior are the same. The great difference is that instead of a hatchback, the Jetta has a regular trunk. The upright design allows the driver and passengers to sit vertically more than in most compact cars, and four adults have adequate space. The cargo area behind the back seat is 18 cubic feet, and the back seatbacks are separated into both models and folded for extra space.

The GTI GLX windows are the next standard feature of a new eight-channel 200-Watt Sound System Monsoon. It’s a new choice for other windows. Also available is a six-disc trunk-mounted CD changer. The standard air conditioning, automatic power door locking, and cassette player are included in all models.

2000 Volkswagen Golf Interior

The 2- and 4-door Golf is available, and the GTI is configured as a two-door hatchback. The Honda Civic Sedan is both a foot shorter at 163 inches and has more cargo space and just as much passenger space. Standard equipment, including anti-lock disc brakes and airbags, is available in golf with an unusually high level of impact. The extent of refinement is unexpected. Forget about the grained plastic wood used in many automobiles. The real thing is this trim.

The stylish instrument looks like components of the aircraft at night with vibrant red needles over indigo gauges. Auto-up and auto-down power windows in this class are usually not found. Golf cupholder is well placed and is suitable for most container sizes. There is sufficient storage space for stowing cellular phones, with large glove covers, deep doors, and a centralized tray.

Driver and passenger doors are used to conveniently different close handles inside. The 1.8T seats are solid and supportive. More side bolstering, however, would help drivers and passengers in tight corners. Seating adjustments are the Volkswagen trademark with its unique vest, which is difficult to adjust in the height of a seat initially, but are improved by familiarity. An optional Monsoon Sound System ($295) with crisp highs and a snappy bass reagent is one of the best production stereos I’ve heard with.
